She/Her

Betsy has spent nearly 20 years in education and has taught all grades K-4. She has additional leadership experience at the school and district level in both charter and public school settings. Betsy has served as a team leader, coach, assistant principal, and literacy consultant. Betsy spent 8 years with the KIPP Network, including two years as a program manager for professional development at the KIPP Foundation. In this role, she supported professional development programming for adult learners across the country at the KIPP School Summit, a national conference hosting more than 4,000 attendees annually. As program manager, Betsy ensured the quality of programming across the conference, coaching all facilitators on high impact learning strategies.

Betsy holds an additional masters degree in social work and has clinical training as a psychotherapist. As a licensed social worker her instructional coaching practice is informed by her training in child trauma and CBT. She draws on this experience daily through her work supporting literacy achievement and equity work in NYC schools.

When not at work, you can find Betsy gardening, hiking, or spending time outdoors with her husband and two daughters, 7, and 3.
