Services

Together, we can shape the future of education and empower every teacher and student for success.

What We Do

Teaching Lab is a non-profit organization with a mission to fundamentally shift the paradigm of teacher professional learning for educational equity.

In partnership with teachers, we transform professional learning from the ground up to dramatically improve student outcomes. We also work with school, district, and state leaders to create the instructional systems necessary to support these changes.

In total, we’ve partnered with over 50 districts, facilitated learning for over 36K educators across 25 states, and impacted more than 1.9 million students.

Virtual Professional Learning

This virtual PL is working much better than I anticipated. You’re doing a great job keeping us all engaged and feeling like a class among each other.

We are ready to support you, remotely!

Teaching Lab’s professional learning can be delivered virtually through our virtual professional learning platform, which brings our unique professional learning content and learning environment online while enhancing our ability to build community amongst educators.

Participants in our distance learning engage in a variety of synchronous (led by a facilitator) and asynchronous (self-directed) learning experiences and enjoy 24/7 access to professional learning content and curricular resources. Teaching Lab also supports educators in learning about the principles and practices of high-quality distance learning for both teachers and students.

Additionally, Teaching Lab anchors our distance learning in meeting the needs of diverse learners (including English learners and students with disabilities) and students with unfinished learning and supports educators in accelerating learning for all students. Teaching Lab’s distance, blended, and in-person professional learning will continue to ensure educators have a strong start in addressing student unfinished learning, especially unfinished learning brought on by extended school closures.

State Partnership Services

Teaching Lab supports state leaders in shifting the enabling conditions for professional learning through state-wide capacity-building efforts. We offer the following state-level services through three capacity-building models. Understanding that states have unique contexts, models can be adapted to meet state leaders’ unique needs.

  • Instructional Leader Fellowship Model

Cohort(s) of RSC (Regional Service Center) and/or district leadership teams.

  • Content Leaders Model

Cohort(s) of RSC and/or district-level coaches or other instructional leaders with or without common instructional materials with the goal of replicating PL in their home districts.

  • District Hub Model

Cohort RSC and/or district-level teams focused on implementing a common curriculum.

  • District-Level Model

Individual districts selecting, adopting, and/ or implementing HQIM (high quality instructional material).

**Note: this is not a state-level service, but this work can be sponsored by states.

All of Teaching Lab’s services will be delivered virtually through our virtual learning platform, which brings our unique professional learning content and learning environment online while enhancing our ability to build community amongst educators. Participants engage in a variety of synchronous (led by a facilitator) and asynchronous (self-directed) learning experiences and enjoy 24/7 access to professional learning content and curricular resources.
