FY25 Teacher Advisory Board Member

Brandi Epps

Brandi Epps is a dedicated Curriculum and Instruction Specialist at Uplift Education in Dallas, TX, where she passionately enhances teachers' understanding of the Science of Reading. With 15 years of diverse experience, Brandi has taught and supported students from Pre-K through 5th grade, served as a Department Chair and Campus Instructional Coach, written curriculum, and worked as a District-level Instructional Specialist. Her journey also includes supervising a team of Instructional Specialists, all of which have enriched her expertise and strengthened her resolve in every educational setting she encounters.

Brandi's love for education was ignited by her maternal grandmother, a special education teacher in Dallas ISD for over 30 years. Inspired by her grandmother's commitment, Brandi discovered her own joy in educating others, listening, and serving from a young age. This passion led her to earn a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the University of Houston and a Master’s in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctorate of Education in Teacher Leadership at Concordia University-Chicago.

Brandi’s talents shine in literacy, creativity, kinesthetic learning, and high engagement strategies. Her wide-ranging experiences in Title I, private, and charter schools have equipped her with the skills to inspire and empower every leader, teacher, and student she meets. It is her hope to carry out the mission and vision of The Teaching Lab/Teacher Advisory Board using her gifts to support educators and enhance the learning experiences of students.

In her spare time, Brandi enjoys writing, traveling, and serving in ministry at her church. During the height of the pandemic, she published her first self-help book and is now excited to embark on a new project: an anthology for single and married women, collaborating with other notable authors from across the U.S. Multifaceted in both her personal and professional life, Brandi is driven by a clear mission: to turn her vision into reality, one purposeful step at a time.
