Before joining Teaching Lab, Colleen spent seven wonderful years at PS 96, a public middle school in East Harlem. There, she taught 7th grade math as the lead middle school math teacher. She also loved running an after-school algebra class for eighth graders. In addition to her teaching role, Colleen contributed to the community as an Education Specialist for Union Settlement.
In addition to Colleen's secondary math license, she holds both SBL and SDL certifications, demonstrating her commitment to professional growth and development. Her degree in Educational Leadership from Hunter College has equipped her with a strong foundation in collaborative leadership and strategies for advancing school success. Colleen’s recent work has centered on the intersection of content knowledge, assessment, and data-driven cycles of inquiry. Her dedication to equity and excellence in mathematics education is evident in her work, as she strives to create inclusive classrooms where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Colleen is usually spending time quality with her family and loves to unwind with a good TV show. She also enjoys exploring new restaurants and driving her MINI.
