As Manager, Learning & Research, Dr. Areah Thompson manages the implementation strategy to evaluate and share the impact of our professional learning on teachers and students by supporting the development, iteration, and execution of research designs for internal impact evaluation and other research initiatives.

Before joining Teaching Lab, Areah was an Education Consultant with the Louisiana Department of Education. Additionally, she served students and families for years as an educator, counselor, and administrator in public and charter schools. She also has experience in organizational and professional development.

Areah completed her Ph.D. in Public Policy, and her research interests include education policy and workforce development.

Areah enjoys actively participating in community service organizations and traveling.
