Jessica M. Keys, M.Ed.

Jessica M. Keys, M.Ed., M.A., NCC, is a mental health and education professional with over a decade of experience spanning counseling, leadership, and teaching roles. With an M.Ed. in School Counseling, a National Certified Counselor (NCC) credential, an M.A. in Advanced Instructional Practice and PK-12 Principal certification, Jessica brings a well-rounded skill set to support the academic, emotional, and career development of students and clients alike. Her commitment to fostering holistic growth has been evident throughout her career, with experience as a school counselor, outpatient therapist, and educational consultant. Her experience as a school counselor has been broad, serving students from diverse backgrounds in virtual and in-person settings.

At her current school, PA Virtual, she has provided career and college counseling, guiding juniors and seniors through their post-secondary plans. In addition to her individual counseling work, Jessica has played an integral role in creating and supporting school programming, such as peer mentoring, tutoring programs, and mental health advocacy clubs. She has also led culturally responsive counseling initiatives, addressing critical topics such as citizenship, bullying prevention, and college/career exploration for middle and high school students. Jessica’s commitment to professional growth and leadership has been evident in her role as a mentor and teacher-leader, leading professional development sessions for educators on topics such as trauma-informed practices, effective teaching strategies, and social-emotional learning.

As a past high school English teacher of 10+ years, she has conceptualized and implemented new programming, including the development of peer-to-peer mentoring initiatives and the integration of technology into school programs. In addition, she has presented at numerous conferences, sharing her expertise in college and career readiness, grief and loss, and equity in education. Jessica has also presented at the Pennsylvania Counseling Association State Conference and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) State Conference. With a passion for whole-child development, Jessica is also committed to policy and advocacy work.

As an alumnus of the Pennsylvania Teacher Policy Advisory Board with Teach Plus Pennsylvania, she has collaborated with policymakers and stakeholders to advance educational equity. Jessica resides in Pittsburgh, PA, with her husband and daughter, where she continues to pursue her passion for supporting individuals and communities through counseling, education, and leadership.
