As Senior Director, Strategic Communications, Jessika develops and leads the execution of Teaching Lab’s communications and brand strategy to increase brand awareness.

Jessika is an accomplished marketing and communications professional known for her expertise in digital strategy, storytelling, and community building with an unwavering commitment to social impact and a keen understanding of the nonprofit sector. Most recently, she served as the Director of Development at the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum during the launch of a multimillion-dollar historic preservation campaign.

Her extensive communications experience includes senior leadership roles at the National March for Science, Pantsuit Nation, and the Hurston/Wright Foundation for Black Writers. Additionally, Jessika has consulted on several communications projects with Houston's One Breath Partnership, Houston in Action's GenHTX Voting Initiative, The City of Houston’s BIPOC Cultural Arts Fund, Atlanta's CHRIS 180, and the Mid-America Arts Alliance.

A passionate supporter of arts and culture organizations, Jessika enjoys visiting local museums whenever she travels. In her leisure time, she and her husband host supper clubs at their home and relish being parents to their toddler Zora, and their spirited 10-year-old terrier mix, Riley. Jessika is a proud alumna of Stephen F. Austin State University, holding bachelor's and master's degrees in Mass Communication and Media Studies.
