Maxibell brings over a decade of experience in elementary education to Teaching Lab, having taught in both monolingual and dual-language classrooms for 10 years, including seven years in schools in the Bronx. During this time, Maxibell not only supported the growth and development of her students but also played a pivotal role in peer coaching colleagues as they navigated new curricula and identified best teaching practices. She is deeply passionate about creating supportive and equitable educational environments for all NYC students.

In addition to her classroom experience, Maxibell developed a dual-language kindergarten curriculum that continues to be successfully implemented today. She also served as the founding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) leader, where her passion for DEI was evident in her efforts to advocate for and implement a culturally relevant curriculum for students in South Bronx schools. Maxibell has also led DEI events and professional development sessions for her peers, focusing on addressing biases and promoting inclusive practices.

Outside of her professional life, Maxibell loves spending time outdoors with her two sons, enjoys a cup of tea and a good book.
