Naquana Haynes is a dedicated educational leader with over a decade of experience in various roles within the education sector. Her expertise spans content execution, instructional coaching, team management, curriculum development, and AI implementation in both public and charter sectors. Naquana's career is marked by significant achievements in improving individual and student outcomes, as well as fostering community cohesion. She has successfully formed a network of school leaders in metropolitan areas, nurtured the development of school-based leaders, academic chairs, and instructional coaches, and enhanced the proficiency of numerous teachers while improving outcomes for students across grades K-12.
Prior to joining Teaching Lab, Naquana served as an Assistant Principal at KIPP New Jersey, where she led initiatives that resulted in impressive literacy and math proficiency growth among students in grades K-2. She developed robust systems for tracking and improving student progress and facilitated significant improvements in teacher instructional practices and student achievement. During her tenure at KIPP New Jersey, she was recognized with awards such as the Freedom Award and Team of the Year Award. At the core of her ethos lies a commitment to servant leadership, underpinned by an unwavering desire to extend access and accomplishments to marginalized communities. Her track record underscores not only her dedication but also her ability to drive tangible improvements in both individuals and the broader educational landscape.
Beyond her professional achievements, Naquana is one-third of a non-profit organization JNA, this organization focuses on enriching the education of black and brown children in marginalized communities. Through JNA, she has developed strategic partnerships and operational content frameworks that have significantly impacted underserved communities.
In her personal life, Naquana enjoys traveling, reading, being in nature, and trying new vegan restaurants, which reflect her passion for continuous learning and exploring new experiences.
