Rhea is an accomplished educator, instructional leader and curriculum developer. Rhea served as a K-4 science educator at Success Academy Charter Schools for 7 years in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. During that time she also mentored over 20 new educators, and served as the lead Gr1 curriculum writer for the science curriculum overhaul. She was an assistant principal for 1 year, supporting GrK teachers and GrK-4 science teachers to modify their curriculum and support excellent remote instruction. Rhea has also served as the lead curriculum writer for a Gr4-12 climate change curriculum, One Step for a Better Tomorrow, and as a GrK-8 instructional coach in Catholic schools across the Northeast Bronx region with Catapult Learning.
Rhea has expertise in inquiry-based curriculum development, NGSS framework adoption, and three-dimensional science instruction. She was an educator at Success Academy Bed-Stuy 1 when it was named a National Blue Ribbon School, and received a Teacher Excellence Award from Success Academy in 2019. She holds a NYS Professional Teaching Certificate in Gr1-6 Childhood Education, and Gr1-6 Students with Disabilities.
Rhea enjoys reading, especially science fiction, as well as exploring the trails with her dog Sage.
