Before joining Teaching Lab as a Math Instructional Coach, Rio spent over 7 years as an educator, instructional coach/designer, and special education advocate in NYC schools.

Rio is particularly passionate about supporting diverse learners, including students with disabilities, Multi-Language Learners, and recent immigrants.

Outside of work, Rio is a dedicated Muay Thai athlete and an active community organizer for the Indonesian New Yorker community.
