Susan Fine is a Senior Advisor to the President of African Leadership University whose goal is to offer an excellent education within reach and at scale to 20,000 students. She is also a lecturer at the University.
After a successful career in real estate where her achievements included the renovation of Grand Central Terminal, she was a Fellow at Harvard’s Advanced Leadership Initiative. She serves on several boards including The Center for an Urban Future and Lion Charter School, the largest independent charter school in New York City.
Susan Fine, principal of Fine Development and developer of the Turnstyle retail project, has built in New York City from the ground up (and sometimes below grade), coordinating every step of the development process – financing, leasing, developing, construction, and management.
In addition to her retail work, she has developed some of New York City’s most complex projects from public review to completion. With Goldman Sachs, she led the effort to build 1,800 units of affordable housing in Southern Queens. Ms. Fine has coordinated development for Brookfield Properties, and the disposition of the Starrett portfolio for Blackacre. She also ran development for Fisher Brothers where she was the executive in charge of the Con Ed properties, the largest undeveloped site in Manhattan and secured its public approvals. Most recently, she acquired designed and sold a development in Fort Greene, and a condominium project developed within a US Post Office.
