Turn Persistent Challenges into Proven Student Success

When Colorado schools and districts face persistent challenges, Teaching Lab delivers more than professional learning. We bring a proven system for building instructional coherence — built on evidence, expertise, and long-term impact.

Why Teaching Lab

We know what it takes to drive meaningful change because we’ve been there. Our team has stood in front of a classroom, coached teachers and  led schools through improvement. That lived experience shapes our work and ensures our support is practical, credible, and grounded in the realities of Colorado schools. This means that plans don’t just get written, they get lived out in classrooms, monitored through data, and refined over time.

Aligned to Colorado’s Priorities

Targeted Professional Learning: Our sequenced leadership series builds leaders’ capacity for intellectual preparation and lesson planning, and equips them with the systems and structures needed to ensure high-quality instruction is consistent across classrooms through observation and feedback

Turnaround Leadership Development: Customized through Assets and Needs Assessments and job-embedded coaching, our team partners with leaders to set a clear instructional vision, analyze data, and create enabling systems that drive sustained improvement.

Improvement Implementation Support: We partner with schools and districts to co-create improvement plans, deliver curriculum-aligned professional learning, and embed side-by-side coaching that builds leader and teacher capacity.

Educator Voices

“This is our strongest cohort of 1st year teachers. After attending the Relay training, they almost immediately had the foundational skills down, like giving clear directions, checking for understanding, and teacher presence.”
– Alejandra Cantu, School Leader

The Teaching Lab Difference

Educator-Led Expertise:
Our services are delivered by former educators who know the realities of teaching and leadership and can bridge strategy with practice.

Evidence of Impact:

  • In New York City, teacher practice scores rose from 46% to 80% in math and from 34% to 78% in ELA after our support, contributing to a 19-point increase in math proficiency.
  • In El Paso, Texas, our turnaround partnership improved teacher practice by 16 percentage points and boosted student proficiency on grade-level tasks by 15 points in a single year.
  • In McNairy County, Tennessee, early literacy outcomes grew dramatically, with kindergarten students moving from 42% to 62% on grade-level benchmarks within one year.

Sustainability Built In:

Every offering includes tools, protocols, and progress monitoring systems that districts can continue to use independently, long after initial funding ends.
