In 2024 we launched the Multilingual Learner Action Guide: empowering educators by providing them with an open-access database of tools to unlock the potential of multilingual learners. The MLL action guide brings targeted strategies to classrooms, helping students develop foundational literacy skills and thrive academically. We’re proud to see this guide supporting teachers and transforming learning experiences for multilingual students.
This guide offers research-based, classroom-tested strategies that build joyful, affirming, and academically rigorous learning environments for multilingual learners. Designed for K–2 teachers, it supports foundational literacy instruction in English (and, in some cases, Spanish), with flexible strategies that also support language development. The guide is equally valuable for educational leaders working to create early literacy systems that meet the needs of all students.
